Set up two-factor authentication

Account and sign-in

With two-factor authentication, you need a code from an authenticator app on your phone as well as your password to sign in. The app shows a new six-digit code every 30 seconds. A stolen password on its own is then no longer enough.

Before you start

Install an authenticator app on your phone, for example Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

How it works

  1. Step 1:
  2. Step 2:
Next to Two-factor, click Set up.
  3. Step 3:
Enter your current password and click Continue. If you sign in with Google, this step is skipped.
  4. Step 4:
Scan the QR code with the app. Alternatively, type in the key shown by hand.
  5. Step 5:
Enter the code from the app and click Switch on.
  6. Step 6:
Save your ten backup codes with Download or Copy. Then click Codes saved.

Two-factor now shows “On”.

How you sign in afterwards

After your password, SadaqaNow asks for the code from the app. There's no longer a code by email. If you don't have your phone to hand, click Continue with backup code. Each backup code works only once.

After five incorrect codes, you can only enter a code again after 15 minutes.

Renew backup codes

Next to Backup codes, click Renew, enter a code from the app and click Create new codes. The old backup codes then stop working. You can do this at most three times a day.

Switch off

Next to Two-factor, click Switch off, enter a code from the app and confirm with Switch off.
