Keep your account and your community safe
Privacy and securityMost problems arise when sign-in details fall into the wrong hands. With a few settings, you make that much harder.
The key steps
- Step 1: Use a strong password of your own that you don't use anywhere else. SadaqaNow requires at least 8 characters with upper- and lower-case letters and a digit. Longer is better.
- Step 2: Switch on two-factor authentication. A stolen password is then no longer enough. See Set up two-factor authentication.
- Step 3: Don't share sign-in details. Invite board members and helpers to the team so that each person uses their own account.
- Step 4: Give out roles sparingly. Someone who only follows donations needs Read-only, not Admin.
- Step 5: Remove people from the team as soon as they leave.
- Step 6: Only tick Remember this device for 30 days on your own devices, and sign out on other people's computers.
- Step 7: Protect your email inbox well too. Codes and links from SadaqaNow arrive there.
- Step 8: Check Recent sign-ins in Settings under Security from time to time.
What SadaqaNow does itself
- After five incorrect passwords, SadaqaNow blocks sign-in with that address for 15 minutes.
- If someone signs in from a new device and location, we send you the email “Neuer Login erkannt” (new sign-in detected).
- If your password is reset via Forgot password?, we send you the email “Ihr Passwort wurde geändert” (your password has been changed).
- If ownership of a community changes, the code goes to the community's contact email.
If you suspect something
- Change your password immediately. Your account is then signed out on all devices.
- Check your community's Activity log to see who changed what recently.
