Set up your community with the setup guide

Getting started

The setup guide is a checklist. You'll find it at the top right of the top bar as the Setup guide button with a circle. The circle fills up with each completed item. On a phone, only the circle is shown there.

When the setup guide is available

The setup guide is available as soon as your community is active, that is, after approval and confirmed payment. On your very first visit, the Studio first shows a short welcome in three windows. After that, the setup guide opens by itself. Skip ends the welcome straight away, and the setup guide still opens.

The items

Category	Items

Set up prayer times	Choose a time source, Enter today's prayer times. Which of these you see depends on the umbrella organisation.
Accept donations	Set donation amounts, Connect your SumUp account, Pair a card terminal, Assign the card terminal to a screen
Set up donation receipts	Enter the board, Add the signature, Add the tax exemption notice, Choose the receipt procedure
Pair your first screen	Create a screen, Pair the screen
Invite your team	Invite someone to help manage the community. This item is optional.
Secure your account	Switch on two-factor authentication. This item is optional.

The order is a suggestion. A greyed-out item is waiting for another one. Below it, you'll then see something like “Connect SumUp first”.

Prayer times by umbrella organisation

Which items appear under Set up prayer times depends on the umbrella organisation you gave when registering.

Umbrella organisation	Items
DITIB	Choose a time source. With automatic times, that completes the category. If you maintain the times yourself, Enter today's prayer times is added: all six times, including sunrise.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat	Only Enter today's prayer times: the five daily prayers, and on Fridays the Friday prayer too. You don't choose a time source, because you always maintain the times yourself.
No umbrella organisation, or a different one	None. The Studio then doesn't show any prayer times.

Where the ticks come from

An item only counts as done once it's in your data. So the template must be saved and the terminal paired. That's why the status is the same on every device. Items that your role doesn't allow you to complete are missing from your list.

The tax exemption notice (Freistellungsbescheid) becomes an open item again 60 days before it expires. That way, you'll remember to renew it in good time.

How to use the setup guide

Step 1:
Click Setup guide at the top right.
Step 2:
Expand a category and choose an open item.
Step 3:
Click the button below the item. It takes you to the right place in the Studio.
Step 4:
The setup guide stays minimised at the bottom right. There, it shows “Next:” followed by the next item.

Use Edit to hide categories that don't apply to you. Hidden items don't count towards your progress. You can also hide optional categories with Skip. The cross closes the setup guide. The button at the top right stays.

Hiding it and bringing it back

Once everything is done, the setup guide shows “All set up”. Hide setup guide makes it disappear completely. You can bring it back from the account menu at the bottom left with Show setup guide.
