Why do our times differ from other calendars?

Prayer times

SadaqaNow takes the automatic prayer times unchanged from Diyanet, Türkiye's Presidency of Religious Affairs, for the place you have chosen. SadaqaNow doesn't recalculate them itself. If another calendar shows different times, it's usually because it follows different rules.

Where differences come from

  • Different rules. Every calendar decides for itself when a prayer begins, such as Fajr, Isha or Asr. Even small differences shift the times by a few minutes.
  • Summer in Germany. For places north of the 45th parallel, which means all of Germany, Diyanet deliberately departs from pure astronomy in summer. Fajr and Isha then often fall noticeably differently than in calendars that only calculate.
  • A different place. Check under Location that the right place is selected. Even a neighbouring town can have slightly different times.

If your community has its own times

If your community follows its own calendar, switch to Manual and enter the times. The screens will then show exactly your times. You'll find out how in Enter prayer times yourself.
