When do changes appear on the screen?
Templates and the editorIf you change a template that is on display, the screens apply the change by themselves once you click Save, usually within a few seconds. You don't need to do anything on the device.
What needs to be in place
- You've clicked Save. Only the editor sees unsaved changes.
- The template is on display. No screen shows a template that is only listed under Your templates.
- In the Per screen display mode, you've changed the template of the right screen. In this mode, no screen shows a template under Shared.
- The screen is online.
How to tell whether a screen shows the latest version
On the Screens page, “Applying changes…” appears next to the screen until it has loaded the latest version. Once the note disappears, the screen is showing it. To be completely sure, take a screenshot; see Take a screenshot of a screen.
Why it sometimes takes longer
- A donation is in progress. If a donation is open on the screen, it waits until the donation is finished. That way, nobody is interrupted in the middle of a donation.
- The screen is offline. It applies the change as soon as it's connected again.
- The device has been restarted. On startup, the screen first shows the last saved version and then loads the new one.
Prayer times and settings
The screens also apply changed prayer times and the settings under Settings › Screens by themselves. For prayer times, this can take a few minutes.
