Pair the SumUp Solo with SadaqaNow
SumUp and card terminalsPairing connects the SumUp Solo with SadaqaNow. For this, the Solo shows a pairing code that you enter in the Studio under Terminals. You then assign the card terminal to a screen.
Before you start
- The Solo is set up and connected to the internet, see Set up the SumUp Solo.
- Your community's SumUp account is connected in the Studio, see Connect the SumUp account.
- You have the “Owner” or “Finance” role.
- You have both the Solo and the Studio to hand, because the code is only valid for a short time.
Show the code on the Solo
- Step 1: Open Settings on the Solo.
- Step 2: Scroll to the bottom and tap Cloud API.
- Step 3: Tap Connect. The Solo now shows a pairing code with 8 or 9 characters.
Enter the code in the Studio
- Step 1: Open Terminals in the Studio. As long as no card terminal has been assigned to a screen yet, the page shows the setup. If the Pair card terminal step there is already done, open it with Change. Otherwise, click Pair card terminal below the list of your card terminals.
- Step 2: Enter the code in the Pairing code field. Upper and lower case don't matter. The Studio leaves out spaces and hyphens.
- Step 3: If you like, give the card terminal a Name, for example “Entrance terminal”. Without a name, it's called “Terminal” followed by an ID from SumUp.
- Step 4: Click Pair.
The Studio reports that the card terminal is paired and moves on to the Assign screen step. What happens next is explained in Assign a card terminal to a screen.
Import a card terminal from SumUp
If the Solo is already paired in your SumUp account, you don't need a new code. Click Import from SumUp. The Studio then fetches all card terminals that are paired in your SumUp account and reports how many new ones have been added.
If the code isn't accepted
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| The pairing code has 8 or 9 characters. | Check that you've entered the whole code. |
| The pairing code wasn't accepted. | The code has expired or is wrong. Display a new one on the Solo and enter it straight away. |
| The connection to SumUp has expired. | The connection to the SumUp account needs to be renewed. Contact SadaqaNow support. |
| The card terminal couldn't be paired just now. | SumUp can't be reached right now. Try again in a moment. |
If you use the Studio in English, the last three cases only show “Pairing failed.” instead of the messages in the table. The cause is then one of these three.
