Which card terminals are supported?

SumUp and card terminals

SadaqaNow works with the SumUp Solo card terminal. It's paired via the Cloud API option on the Solo. A card reader without this function can't be paired with SadaqaNow.

Why the Solo

The Solo connects to the internet by itself. When a payment starts at the screen, SumUp sends it directly to the Solo. No mobile phone or cable between the screen and the card terminal is needed for this.

What the Solo needs

  • It's set up with your community's SumUp account.
  • It has a permanent internet connection, for example via the mosque's Wi-Fi.
  • Its battery is charged.

How to set it up is explained in Set up the SumUp Solo.

How many card terminals you need

Each screen accepts payments through exactly one card terminal, and each card terminal belongs to at most one screen. That's why you need a separate Solo for each screen. Without a card terminal, a screen won't complete its setup.

Where to get the Solo

You get the Solo and the SumUp account that goes with it from SumUp. What the Solo costs and what fees apply per payment are set out in your contract with SumUp. Find out more in What fees apply to donations?
