Why do the reports differ from my SumUp statement?

Reports

The reports count the donations that were paid at your screens, each with the amount the donor paid. The money itself goes straight to your community's SumUp account; SadaqaNow has no access to it. What SumUp pays out to your bank account, and when, depends on your contract with SumUp. That's why the figures don't always match.

Common reasons

  • Fees. Depending on your contract, SumUp keeps fees for card payments. The reports show the amounts before this deduction.
  • Payout days. Payouts reach your bank account later and can combine several days. The reports assign each donation to the day on which it was started at the screen.
  • Refunds. Refunded donations no longer count in the reports.
  • Other payments. Your SumUp account may also hold payments that didn't go through any of your screens. The reports don't know about those.
  • Time zone. In the reports, days and times follow the time zone of your computer.

How to reconcile

  1. Step 1:
Export the period as a CSV file, ideally with only the Paid status. See Export donations as a CSV file.
  2. Step 2:
Where available, the Reference column contains SumUp's transaction code. You can use it to find each donation again in SumUp.
