Which roles are there and what can each one do?

Team and permissions

Every person in your team has one or more roles in each community. The roles determine which areas of the Studio they see and what they can change there.

The six roles

RoleWhat it can do
OwnerEverything. This includes transferring ownership, cancelling the subscription and downloading all of the community's data.
AdminTeam and invitations, settings, screens, the Editor, prayer times, campaign texts and images, the board under Representatives, and the activity log
FinanceBilling and invoices, connecting SumUp and pairing card terminals, campaigns including their amounts, donation receipts (Zuwendungsbestätigung) and tax details
ContentThe Editor, prayer times, and campaign texts and images
ScreensAdding, pairing, taking screenshots of and reloading screens
Read-onlyView only: the Overview and Reports

All roles can see the Overview and Reports. When you invite someone, each role has a short description underneath of what it includes.

Several roles for one person

Roles can be combined. Someone who looks after the finances and the screens gets Finance and Screens. The permissions of both roles then add up. That way, nobody gets more permissions than they need.

Some tasks need two roles. Only someone who can manage both card terminals and screens can assign a card terminal to a screen. That's the owner and anyone who has Finance together with Admin or Screens. For more, see Assign a card terminal to a screen.

Who can assign which role

  • The Owner can assign every role except “Owner”.
  • Admin can only assign Content, Screens and Read-only.
  • Only the owner can change members who have Admin or Finance.
  • The only way to become owner is through a transfer. For more, see Who is the owner and how does ownership change hands?

Responsible for individual screens

If your community has several screens, you decide for each person whether they look after All screens or only Selected ones. Anyone who only looks after selected screens also only sees and operates those in the Studio. Some tasks require access to all screens, for example the donation receipt settings.
