Cancel the subscription

Billing and pricing

Your community's subscription can be cancelled monthly. Only the community's owner can cancel it. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you've already paid for. Until then, all screens keep running as usual.

How to cancel

  1. Step 1:
Open Settings › Billing. From within a community, Billing in the sidebar takes you there.
  2. Step 2:
In the Cancellation section, click Cancel. You can also open the same page from the three dots in your community's row.
  3. Step 3:
On the Cancel page, the Subscription row explains under “If you cancel” what cancelling means. Click Cancel subscription.
  4. Step 4:
The customer portal of our payment provider, Stripe, opens directly at the cancellation step. Give a reason there and confirm.
  5. Step 5:
You return to the Studio. It shows “Subscription cancelled” with the day the subscription ends.

The Subscription row then shows Cancelled with “Ends on”, the date and the sentence “All screens keep running until then.” Your community has the same status under Billing.

Until the subscription ends

Everything keeps running until the end date, and the Studio doesn't show a warning banner. During this time, individual screens can no longer be cancelled, because they all end with the subscription.

Withdraw the cancellation

While the subscription is still running, click Withdraw cancellation on the Cancel page. In the customer portal, you renew the subscription. The Studio then shows “Cancellation withdrawn”, and the subscription continues.

After the end

  • All screens show “This screen is temporarily out of service. Donations are not possible here at the moment.” Card donations are blocked.
  • The community, its data and donation receipts (Zuwendungsbestätigung) are kept. You can keep using the Studio.
  • The Studio shows the “Subscription ended.” banner. Under Billing, it says Subscription ended with the date.
  • Under Screens and on the overview, each screen shows Switched off with the note “Subscription ended”. Instead of the template, the preview shows “Außer Betrieb” (Out of service).
  • New screens can only be created and paired again once the subscription is running. That's why, in place of Add screen, it says “The subscription has ended. Resume it to add or pair screens.”
  • A community whose subscription has ended isn't deleted automatically.

Resume the subscription

With Resume subscription, you can restart the subscription at any time. You'll find the button in the “Subscription ended.” banner and under Settings › Billing. After payment, the screens start running again without having to be paired again. For step-by-step instructions, see Resume the subscription.

Only the owner

Only the owner can cancel and withdraw the cancellation. With the “Finance” role, you'll see the note “Only the owner can cancel.” in these places. In the customer portal, you can see invoices and payment details, but you can't cancel there.
