How do donations work with SadaqaNow?
Donations and campaignsDonations are made at the screen in your mosque. Payment is taken on the SumUp card terminal that belongs to that screen. The money goes straight to your community's SumUp account. SadaqaNow has no access to it and takes no share.
The journey of a donation
- Step 1: A donor taps the donate button on the screen. In the templates, it says “Donate now”.
- Step 2: They choose what to donate to: the local donation to your community or one of your campaigns.
- Step 3: They then choose an amount.
- Step 4: The screen sends the payment to the card terminal assigned to it.
- Step 5: Payment is made at the terminal by card or smartphone. Only SumUp processes the card details.
- Step 6: The money goes to your community's SumUp account. SumUp pays it out to the bank account you have registered with SumUp.
- Step 7: Shortly afterwards, the donation appears in the Studio under Reports, with the time, campaign, screen and amount.

SadaqaNow's role
SadaqaNow provides the technology: the Studio, the display on the screen and the connection to SumUp. SadaqaNow isn't involved in the donations themselves. It doesn't pass on any money and takes no commission. This is also stated in our Terms (AGB).
When the subscription ends
If your community's SadaqaNow subscription ends, the screens no longer accept donations. They then show “This screen is temporarily out of service. Donations are not possible here at the moment.” The community, its data and the donation receipts (Zuwendungsbestätigung) are kept. Find out more in Cancel the subscription.
